Senior Graphic Designer
Production/Traffic Coordinator
LeapFrog Solutions seeks a highly motivated self-starting individual to join a growing dynamic strategic marketing communications firm in Oakton, Virginia, known for its collaborative team environment.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, advertising or related field.
- At least 4 years’ experience in general design, print production, and Web site design and production– knowledge and experience with both print and online design is required.
- Proficiency in the following software programs: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, ImageReady, Indesign, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, and Flash as well as Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Entourage. Knowledge of Macromedia Director and other multimedia software is a plus.
- An understanding of and proficiency with HTML and other coding languages, as well as the ability to develop Web sites from initial designs to completed build-out.
- Candidate must be able to conceptualize and design promotional materials in traditional print media as well as electronic and online media.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are critical.
- Experience with the production process, both print and online.
- Experience working directly with other vendors including printers, photographers, illustrators, service bureaus, and paper merchants.
- A sense of humor and positive attitude.

We’re looking for a smart, seasoned pro to join our creative team and manage job traffic, print estimating and scheduling, proofing/quality control and light production on state-of-the-art Macs and PCs. Agency track record and experience with juggling changing projects specs and deadlines is a plus. Job requirements include:
- knowledge of production processes and timelines
- development of print specifications
- established relationships with local printers a plus
- obtaining production estimates from printers, trade show display houses and other vendors and subsequently placing orders once job is awarded
- tracking jobs’ progress through to final delivery
- checking production proofs
- working with Adobe CS3 and MS Office
- working knowledge of AP Style Guide a plus
- coordinating production schedules and deliverables details between Project Managers and Design Department
- maintaining job jackets and assuring all information is present and correct
- proofing jobs throughout life cycle
- minimum 5 years’ experience
- agency experience preferred
- bachelor’s degree in communications and/or graphic design
- high-level of verbal and written communication skills
