AVIEL Systems was formed as a holding company in early 2006 after its CEO acquired two established government contracting firms. For AVIEL, a federal IT services provider, the challenge was more complex than most. As a new entity, AVIEL had no brand recognition and needed to build a firm presence in the crowded federal marketplace. And with future plans to go public, it was paramount that AVIEL create the image of a solid, well established company. Lastly, AVIEL needed to achieve a synergy and common voice among all of its operating entities and create buy-in from its internal and external stakeholders.
Highly experienced in both the technology and government contracting markets, LFS was brought on board to provide AVIEL with crucial strategic advice. After devising a comprehensive strategic communications plan, we worked with AVIEL to build its brand identity so that it could better compete in the marketplace and attract investors as it sought to go public. We created a new logo and messaging, integrating it into all of AVIEL’s marketing media. This included the design and build-out of a new Web site as well as office signage, a trade show booth and a full collateral suite. Serving as an extension of AVIEL’s marketing communications staff, LFS also performed ongoing media relations for AVIEL, working to elevate its stature and visibility in the news media.
The seamless launch of the AVIEL brand has paved the way for it to achieve enormous success during its inaugural year. Under its new identity, AVIEL has been successful at growing its business and capturing a firm stronghold in the competitive federal marketplace. AVIEL has also enjoyed increased visibility. Earlier this year, AVIEL’s CEO was named a finalist in the Association for Corporate Growth’s Dealmaker of the Year competition as well executive of the year in the Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards. Lastly, the foundation was laid for AVIEL to merge with a publicly traded company that acquires and operates tech-sector businesses. After the transaction is complete, AVIEL intends to apply for a listing on the Nasdaq Stock Market.
