Challenge:

The Fairfax Choral Society (FCS) sought to update its Web site to better reflect its artistic successes, highlight the organization and its programs, and be a unique visual design befitting a fine performing arts organization. FCS’ product is their excellent choral ‘sound’ - they wanted visitors to the site to experience the excitement of a live concert and to hear their range of repertory.

The site needed to provide a myriad of information: upcoming concerts; bios on the artistic and office staff; contributors and giving details; media reviews; organizational information, including outreach programs; auditions and membership; a members-only site; and a link to Tickets.com for on-site ticketing and reserved seating. As part of their strategic marketing efforts, the new Look and Feel would be highlighted on new concert postcards and printed materials.

Solution:

LFS did a complete Web site redesign that resulted in an eye-catching, professional performing arts image with easy, intuitive links to the different pages. The audio from concerts was on the opening page, and served to ‘set the mood’ and allow visitors to immediately hear the quality of the chorus’ performances. The Look and Feel coordinated with the season brochure and other printed materials mailed during the year.

Result:

Visitors to the site get an immediate sense of FCS and its excellent sound and reputation by the opening audio segments from concerts. The artistic season is well-publicized. Organizational information and ticket inquiries /purchases are available instantly, easing the burden on part-time office staff. The post card to the final 2003 concert was so popular that many people requested large posters to frame.
