The Federal Railroad Administration determined that it needed to update its Web site and needed a more up-to-date, unified look throughout the entire site. In addition, they wanted to enhance functionality make the navigation more user-friendly and intuitive; and make information easy to find. Because of the diverse audience that visits daily for information, the site needed to provide relevant information to satisfy visitors’ expectations and segment the information based on the types of audiences that visit the site. The Web site also needed to by dynamic and driven by a content management system that was easy to use for FRA personnel.
LeapFrog Solutions (LFS) worked with each of the departments by conducting focus groups and completing the Framework Analysis Document to completely redesign and architecturally restructure the Web site to better serve internal and external needs.
LFS created a Web site that presented FRA as a more forward-thinking organization. The order and segmentation was more intuitive for visitors to the FRA site. In addition, a content management system was provided for easy updating and site management by FRA staff.
