Spacenet





Challenge:

Spacenet specializes in providing high-performance satellite and hybrid networking solutions to more than 100,000 customer locations throughout the world. Spacenet sought to hire a marketing firm that could supplement their corporate marketing objectives, which included:


  • Increasing exposure of the Spacenet Brand and its products/services in target vertical markets.
  • Generating new leads across vertical markets and strengthening relationships with existing customers.
  • Achieving goals through integrated marketing communications campaigns and activities that include advertising, events, PR/media, collateral and direct marketing.

LeapFrog Solutions (LFS) was hired to spearhead these efforts and elevate the awareness of Spacenet in the market. The challenge of this effort was to communicate Spacenet’s distinguishing competitive advantages in ways that would reach their target audience and resonate with decision makers.


Solution:

LFS initiated its L.E.A.P. methodology by performing in-depth research and interacting with Spacenet executives. This allowed the company to identify Spacenet’s competitive advantages and develop strategies to gain customers and increase market share in specific vertical markets. LFS began by holding a Bull’s-Eye strategy session with key Spacenet leadership. As part of this process, LFS worked with Spacenet to complete the Framework Analysis Document (FAD) and LFS staff reviewed Spacenet’s current marketing and proprietary materials. Once this research phase was complete, LFS prepared a comprehensive Public Relations (PR) Plan based on the findings. The Plan contained recommendations for effectively communicating the key corporate messages both internally and externally, as well as public relations strategies and tactics.


Result:

LFS implemented the PR Plan and proactively presented Spacenet’s unique story to press and industry organizations. LFS positioned the company as the leader in the satellite and networking industry by disseminating awards nominations, bylined articles, and press releases. In addition, high-profile speaking opportunities and interviews were arranged for key Spacenet executives. As a result of this major public relations campaign, Spacenet CEO, Andreas Georghiou, was nominated for Satellite Executive of the Year and appeared in Via Satellite Magazine. LFS helped Spacenet focus on redefining and clarifying their market position, leading to one of the highest performing years in the company’s 30 year history.
