LeapFrog Solutions Develops Flu Vaccine Campaign For Fairfax County Health Department

Oakton, Va., September 29, 2011 — LeapFrog Solutions, a full-service marketing communications firm, developed a flu vaccine educational outreach campaign that the Fairfax County Health Department is using to educate residents about the importance of getting an annual flu shot.

The campaign, which includes an educational video, public service announcements, posters and advertising, focuses on the concept of “community immunity” and the protection afforded to the entire community, especially the vulnerable, when a critical portion of the population is immunized against a disease.

“We are pleased to partner with the Fairfax County Health Department in their effort to encourage everyone over the age of six months to get their flu shot,” said LeapFrog Solutions CEO Lisa Martin.

The campaign, which LFS developed this summer, educates the community about how community immunity protects the vulnerable people such as those who are ineligible to receive the flu vaccine or are at greater risk of flu-related complications and death. The health department, led by Dr. Gloria Addo-Ayensu, encourages everyone who can receive flu a vaccine to get vaccinated every year. Everyone is encouraged to visit the health department’s website, www.fairfaxcounty.gov/FLU, to learn more about community immunity, view the video, and locate a nearby flu vaccination site.
